Why Keep Health and Safety Records?
Keeping up-to-date with health and safety records is vital because:
- It ensures key information is at hand and easily retrievable – allowing those in monitoring and managerial positions to access information quickly.
- Registers and records inform those responsible for health and safety tasks of exactly what needs to be done and when – improving workflow, safety and efficiency.
- They demonstrate your compliance with legal duties under health and safety law.
- Records are often a legal requirement and must be available for inspection by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or other regulatory bodies.
